life and style and co | I did it!

So I did it 🙂 and I’m so proud!

After my previous post where I highlihted my cousin Karen who donated her hair to cancer patients, I could’t get it out of my head.

And what better time to give and what better time to change than during the holidays and the New Year! So I decided to go for it! I mean, it is a brand new year, so why not start out with a total new look, new hair, new me?

And here am I today.

I’m so proud to share with you all that I have cut my hair and donated a 40 cm ponytail to One Wig Stand, a non-profit organization about Breast Cancer awareness. This incredible organization launched a campaign back in October, with the help of a network of fabulous Lebanese hairdressers, and many women around the world have made the “cut” 🙂 Check out details here.

Anyone can donate their hair. You only need to give a minimum of 15 cm, and you all know that hair grows 🙂

I’m not gonna lie, I definitely had tears in my eyes when my  hairdresser, Joseph Saad, made the cut! But then I can’t tell you how happy I felt! First, because of my new look, I’ve had long hair forevvver!! And second, I’m so happy that the hair I loved has gone to a great cause! I truly hope it makes someones life a little brighter.

That being said, don’t you agree that doing a good deed is kind of selfish? It reminds me of an episode of “Friends” where Phoebe said that very same thing. I mean, giving back makes you feel so good about yourself, regardless of how good the other’s might feel. I guess I never really understood what she meant until now!

Anyway, selfish or not, it will definitely put a smile on somebody’s face and THAT’S what counts.

So Ladies out there, what are you waiting for? It is only a 15 cm ponytail that will make a world of difference to someone. So, are you ready to make the “cut.” 😉

Here are some photos of my wonderful experience:IMG_4696
